Pawsitive Therapy was founded by Laura May Miller in 2011. After working at an animal hospital as a surgery and kennel assistant, completing placement studies with the Canadian Centre for Pet loss Bereavement and aiding in the foundation and implementation of the first World Pet Memorial Day in Canada she knew she wanted to take the next step in helping people realize the potential power and healing from animals. Laura acquired her Honours diploma in Social Service Work in 2008, and also currently works as a Recreational Therapist implementing AAT and Art Therapy techniques into her daily practice.
Laura has been able to maintain her unique vision of combining her love of animals, Animal Assisted Therapy techniques and counselling services. These combinations range from helping children overcome the loss of a pet to maintaining fine motor skills in adults with developmental disabilities to aiding seniors in coping with living in Long Term Care.
Pawsitive Therapy is located in Toronto, Ontario and services individuals in person across Toronto and Greater Toronto Area; Telephone Support across Ontario.
